Day 1 – Monday, May 5th
Spent all day packing and freaking out; left for Logan airport; bawled eyes out when leaving the parents; left Boston at 11pm.
Day 2 – Tuesday, May 6th
Long flight, but luxe amenities (hot towels at takeoff, two meals, selection of hundreds on movies, etc.); arrived in Dubai at 7pm; paid twenty USD for two pastries and a bottle of water; left Dubai at 10:30pm.
Day 3 – Wednesday, May 7th
Arrived in Bangkok at 7:30am; breezed through immigration and customs, but was delayed by The Longest Cab Ride in the Existence of Humanity; arrived just in time, disoriented, for orientation; ventured out in the evening for dinner and explored the neighborhood; got delicious chicken satay; went to bed early.
Total number of 7-11s within convenient walking distance: 8.
Day 4 – Thursday, May 8th
Woke up early to head out for a tour of the Grand Palace.
Returned back to the hotel for teacher training, followed by a delicious welcome dinner accompanied by traditional Thai dancers (it’s all fun and games until there’s audience participation).
I think that brings us up to date! Stay tuned for more exciting chapters in this adventure!
